So I ran windows 7 upgrade advisor on my windows xp 32 bit operating system and my system met all the minimum requirements but my intel(r) pro/1000 pm network connection came up as reccommended actions should be performed. I searched intels website to see any available driver updates for windows 7 but i found nothing. Does this mean that when I upgrade to windows 7 I will have no internet?

Assuming your PC is factory-built (or it's a laptop), look on the PC/Laptop manufacturer's site for Windows 7 drivers for your PC/Laptop model.

If not factory-built, go to the motherboard manufacturer's website instead and look for Win7 drivers for that motherboard model.
