The Rig:

Intel i5-6600
ASUS z170 Pro Gaming
Gigabyte GTX 980Ti G1
16gb DDR4 RAM (2133)
1 TB Seagate HDD
Samsung 950 Pro - 512 gp
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 W
212 EVO

The problem:

So I bought the components for this rig and built a pretty sweet gaming rig for myself in December. For a while it worked great, and then about three-four weeks in I started having the classic nvidia "graphics driver stopped responding" problem where games (and even full screen youtube vids) would freeze and then crash to desktop. I wasn't sure what the problem was but I tried swapping my card out for an older nvidia card and the rig worked fine, so I figured I would just RMA the 980Ti and try again.

I sent in the graphics card and gigabtye returned it to me a couple weeks later saying that there was nothing wrong with it. Thinking that was a bit strange I put the card back in the machine and now the machine wouldn't even boot properly. I reinstalled Windows and it STILL wouldn't boot correctly - the PC would boot to the windows screen and then the graphics would just die and the screen would turn black. I tried putting the older card in again and the machine worked properly, tried putting the new card back in and again the computer couldn't boot correctly. It's really strange because originally I had no problems with the card, then things started breaking, and now that they've sent it back it won't work in the PC at all!

What's the deal? The card seems more fucked than when I sent it in, but theoretically they said nothing is wrong with it. Should I RMA it AGAIN and hope they send me a new one? Could it have gotten damaged on the way back?

Very confused! Any help would be appreciated.
