TV Turns of when i switch on/off my lighting.

So. i bought a new tv for my HTPC.
but now every time i switch on my lights my screen flashes for a while.

so far i know. its not the backlight turning of from my tv. but i think its the problem of my HDMI cable that picks up the magnetic pulse coming from my TL lights ?

but im not sure can someone help me?

Are those Philips TL flourescent lights ?
If so then they are probably generating Radio Frequency Interference from the ballast/starter.
You could try a better quality HDMI cable with better shielding and also make sure that your TV or HTPC is properly grounded.

Could this also be an issue with how much current is being used? Maybe if you have too much electronics on one line it would get noisy? Look up "power quality" on wikipedia.
