Need Help Picking Between Synology DS216 and DS216play NAS

I've been having a look at both of these models, and while the DS216 is a little more expensive, the DS216play looks like it has better specs. I just wanted to check if the normal DS216 has any features which make it worth buying over the play version, other than the slightly higher write speed?

The play version is mainly designed for streaming media, which I'm actually not really too bothered about, and would be fine with not having if the normal DS216 is actually better. It just seems strange to me that a weaker (on paper, at least) version would be more expensive than the more powerful one.

This will be my first NAS and I'll mainly be using it for normal file storage (personal documents, photos, videos), storage for uni work while away from home, and shared storage between me and a friend. I'd also like it to be able to handle simple web server hosting if possible.

Thanks in advance for the help!

If you don't need the multimedia features of the Play, the plain 216 is easier to work with IMO. The play you have to power down, remove the case, and then unscrew the drives to access them wheres as the 216 has hot-swappable bays.

The play has the more powerful processor and more ram which combine to give it abit more networks performance under certain loads also.

Alright, that's great, thanks a lot! I'll probably just go with the play then, I don't see me having to swap drives too often, I'll likely just get them up and leave them until one fails, and the more powerful processor and extra ram seem like they'll be more useful to me. Thanks again for the help! :)
