Is it worth having dual graphics cards with one monitor?

Okay so before I start I just need to say that I have very little knowledge when it comes to PC's.... I am currently looking to spend £1,500 - £2,000 on a decent PC that is capable of running the latest games on high settings and I recently came across this one (http://www.ebuyer.com/729599-cyberpower-gaming-skybolt-sli-gaming-desktop-ecc01328)

Now this PC comes with dual graphics cards and I only have one monitor (this one: http://goo.gl/X6rTyJ) so I was wondering if its worth buying it, should I go for one with just a single graphics card? Will i get some kind of boost using dual graphics cards with only one monitor? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Yes and no. You can get better performance with two GPUs, but with your monitor, you won't. The only reason to get such a high-powered machine would be if you had a 4k monitor or a 1440p one running at 120Hz or more. You can max out the performance of your current display at less than half the cost of what you have budgeted.

depends on the monitor. dual cards on a 1080p monitor is probably a waste.

the dual 980 ti's in that build would be ideal for a 4k monitor if you wish to run max settings. anything lower and they are a waste to have in the pc. if you wish to watch a video and do it yourself, you can get a much better pc if you build it yourself :) and you get to pick each part so you know they are all top quality. i guarentee the one you linked to has a cheap mobo and psu and anything else cheap they can get into the case. notice they don't even list the mobo or psu. it's cause they know it is bottom of the line el cheapo models!! for 2000 you should be getting quality parts

the 1080p monitor you have would not see any benefit. a gtx 970 would max it out easily and a lot cheaper.
