Hello,
I just finished building a new pc but when I turn it on I don't get any signal from my old monitor.

I currently have the following installed inside my case:

corsair sf450 ( the new corsair sfx psu :) )
asus z170i pro gaming
kingston fury 2x4gb 2133 ram
noctua l9i
i5-6600k cpu

my monitor is connected to the mobo's hdmi connection through a converter (dvi to hdmi) because my monitor does not have hdmi or display-port outputs. I should note that the monitor does work when I connect it to my other computer in the same way (dvi to hdmi).

I tripple-checked that everything is connected properly and I also tried to following:
- connected only one stick of ram
- cleared cmos
- reinstalled cpu (couldn't find any broken/bent pins)
- connected the pc to a hdtv with a hdmi (no converters) cable

Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? The q-leds also do not seem to indicate that some part isn't working..

Solution
I solved the problem!

Just like I thought, it seems that it is not possible to use this motherboard's HDMI connection before installing windows or changing something in bios (maybe drivers are required). I purchased a dvi to displayport converter and now everything is working well.

Thanks to all anyway :)

I don't have a gpu installed. I mentioned all the hardware that I have installed in my case. I'm thinking maybe this motherboard defaults to displayport in bios so the hdmi doesn't work - is that possible?
