Can I use the same windows 7 CD key on the same hard drive after a format?

I accidentally failed to format the drive, to remove the other OS files that was on here, so I need to reinstall Windows 7. But I'm unsure if I'm able to use the same CD key (One time use) on the same computer after formatting it.

The OS communicates with the motherboard of the computer. As long as that stays the same, you should be able to use the same installation of Windows with the same activation code/product key. You should refer to MS Support for more details on How to perform a clean installation of Windows.
