I'm trying to figure out what PSU I need to get for my build, I have used 3 different online wattage calculators and ended up getting some conflicting results.

Newegg Wattage Calculator: 682
pcpartpicker recommended wattage: 305
outervision Calculator: 365

Most comments and reviews on GPU cards I have read say you should have more than 500 watts for a good PC build, but I want to have the recommended 100 extra watts after the whole build is complete, so should I get just a 500 watt like most the calculators are saying? Or go with and 700 or higher PSU?

Current build:

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G

CPU: Core i5 6600 6M

RAM: G.SKILL RIPJAW V Series 8GB ( 2 x 4 gig sticks)

Optical Drive: LITE- ON Black DVD-ROM

Storage: WD 1TB Black series 7200 RPM

Solution
A high quality 550 watt unit will do the job for you. Your system will max out at 350-400 watts peak and run at about half that on average.

Will a 550 watt unit, still be enough for a extra case fan or 2?
