Solution
Your current hard drive has a second generation SATA interface running at 3.0 Gb/s. The bandwidth throughput, which is supported by the interface, is up to 300MB/s.

The motherboard has third generation SATA interface running at 6.0Gb/s. It has six SATA 6Gb/s ports. The bandwidth throughput, which is supported by the interface, is up to 600MB/s. This interface is backwards compatible with SATA 3 Gb/s interface.

Step-by-step instructions on the best method to uninstall and install an AMD processor and heatsink / fan (HSF)

You might want to use a quality Thermal Interface such as Artic Silver 5...

Thanks, I appreciate the quick response!

What's wrong with my hard drive? You want me to replace it with that SSD, I presume? It's kinda small... Am I able to use both simultaneously?

I believe you would need to remove the wires from the proprietary HP front panel connector to use on the new motherboard.

If you choose to use a SSD, this is an adapter to fit case:

Thank you so much for being patient with me and helping so thoroughly. I suppose I have one more question- Why exactly do I need a new CPU fan? Will my current one not fit on the new motherboard?
