Hi guys,

Just a few days ago I put together my new build. Everything has gone off without a hitch except for the inability to install one of the drivers that came with my motherboard, which is the Intel Management Engine Components.

I have tried two versions of the driver, the first on the disc that came with my motherboard, and the other from the Gigabyte website.

After choosing the install location (left at default) and clicking next, the install process begins for half a second or so, until I get an error which reads:

"The set up program ended prematurely because of the following error: Fatal error during installation."

I have ran the installer normally, and also as an administrator. Both versions of the driver have exactly the same area.

The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-H170-HD3, with a Core i5 6600, running Windows 10 Home 64 Bit.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Hello... GOOD to GO!!! No worries... have some FUN... Good JOB! B )
I Think WIN 10 media had the intel driver loaded in it already for that hardware, is WHY the driver install would error.

Thanks for your replies. I have installed that driver already. Or would I need to reformat, then install INF, then install IMEC?

So if i'm reading this correctly, the driver is actually already installed? Should I reformat and try again just in case, or am I good to go? Thanks alot :)

Because, the bandwidth hogging capabilities of Microsoft Windows have been upscaled tp 100% which download every single driver on it's own.. Destabilizing many other applications..
