Hello... 1) You have to remove one of the recommended Updates...KB 3035583
2) then do a GWX ( F3 ) search in your (regedit) registry... and manual remove instances.
3) And you have to disable it in your Task bar warnings.
4) or Load a "restore point" before KB 3035583 was installed.

A better solution is to install the GWX Control Panel. I've installed it on 31 computers, and it goes on easily and just works the way you want it to. I haven't seen the icon or any of the nags since installing it.
