Solution
Big problem here is the Vengeance are made with high density memory chips that aren't compatible with the G41 chipset. This is an older mobo that uses DRAM with low density memory chips like the GSkilll NT series of Value DRAM. FSB has nothing to do with it here, the DRAM when first installed goes to the mobo default

Gigabyte GA-G41MT-S2's RAM works with a maximum FSB (front side bus) of 1333Mhz that too when overclocked where as VEngeance 2x4gb 1600 has FSB of 1600MHz. So that RAM would definitely not work with the mother board.... Bad luck :-(

What he said^ :)
Older chipsets don't like High Density , thanks for a new lesson tradesman, did not know that

them old 775 era boards and just about rendered obsolete .. and pretty much fading off in to the sun set your moneys probably better off in savings for a more today build
you see so many hrere looking to try to refresh them and to me its throwing good money after bad and like you now see ''upgrading' aint so easy and for the most part e-bay shopping to do so
