Graphics card wothout shroud

I bought a graphics card cheap from my friend but it didn't have the shroud on it and I can't find any replacements online. Can I still run a pc decently with a shroud less graphics card?

as in no fancy plastic/ aluminum cover thing over the heat sink? that is not a huge problem, the air will not be as directed, but it will still work. As in no heat sink? no dice you need one.

What card is it exactly ??

Pics would he helpful.
If the fan is connected & working the card will work fine, just 100% of the was air will stay in the case rather than 50-60% being guided out of the back by a shroud .
With decent case cooling you should still be fine.

It's an Nvida brand gtx 550 ti and I can't supply pics right now. The card currently doesn't have a fan attached but I will attach the fan once I start building my rig

Well as long as you can get a fan on the heat sink and move enough air through it all will be well. do you plan to tape on the fan or something? or use the mounting screw ports? both will work, but the latter is certainly a better move.

actually I finally got around to building the pc last week and the fan is held on the gpu with 4 zipties. Thought you might find that answer amusing.

yeah zipties are great for fan mounting, I use electrical tape as well... trust me, i have zipties holding heat sinks on my motherboard, ziptied fans are pretty normal for me...
