I have built a custom PC.
It boots up to BIOS and will let me load up windows 10 disc
But it says my partitions are dynamic and windows cannot install
I have tried GParted but it just terminates
Since I have no OS I cannot run some of the partition tools

Can anyone advise on anything to try?

Solution
you can't install onto a dynamic disk.

you need to make it a nondymanic disk, you can do this in the advanced section of the page where you are choosing the install location.

HOWEVER, you need to understand why it is dynamic as it will mean the loss of any data on there, it WILL NOT be recoverable.

If you want to keep it, get another physical disk and install onto this.

It is always good practise to install with just the disk you want to install to connected. Unplug all other disks.

Hey there, fallenangel87!

I'd recommend you to put the hard drive in another computer and backup any data from it that is essential to you. Converting it back to basic will erase all the files. While in Disk Management on the other PC you should be given the option to Convert the Dynamic Disk back to Basic and reformat it.
When you put it back in your custom PC rig, you should be able to install Windows, hopefully, without any struggles.

Best of luck! :)
