As for yesterday my custom built PC is randomly shutting off. I have recently bought new Kingston Hyper X RAM (2 8GB sticks) and 2 months ago I bought and installed a Zotac GTX 970. I have ruled out the possibility of it being an OS issue (I am running Windows 10) by swapping in my HDD from my laptop. It booted just fine but shut off 5-6 minutes afterward. I have successfully had it run for 1.5 hours but ultimately it did the same thing. I tried it again after having let it be off overnight, it turned off withing 10 minutes. For this reason I don't think that it is an overheating issue. My next best guess is that it is either a virus that has infected somewhere other than the HDD (if that's a thing) or that the PSU is failing. I would appreciate some feed back about my situation as I am on a limited budget and would like to replace only the parts that are truly dead. Thanks in advance.

NOTE- I did attempt some overclocking around the time of these events starting using AMD Overdrive and MSI Afterburner. Both were removed when I did a system restore that same day, and based on my monitoring software (CPU/GPU Z) both my CPU and GPU are at stock clocks.

I appreciate the quick and accurate feedback. I will however keep the thread open for a couple hours more, as I would appreciate others opinions as well. Thank you for your response.
