Hello!

First, I'd like to say I'm very sorry if I've put this in the wrong thread. I'm not the most tech savvy person, but after spending the last two days reading and trying fixes I'm under the impression that it may be an issue with the motherboard itself.

I recently bought a Plantronics RIG500E E-Sports Edition headset. For the life of me, I cannot get it to stop transmitting my computer sounds (video games, the voice of someone talking to me, sounds from chrome etc). It's a USB headset.

I didn't have this issue with my last headset, but it had the pink and green plugs instead of USB. I've tried updating drivers, making sure all the settings were correct and pretty much anything else I've found that might fix it.

One thing I've noticed, under "jack information" it shows the devices as being plugged into different audio jacks. The speaker says "L R (blue jack image) Front Panel Quarter Inch Jack" and the headset says "L R (black jack image) Rear Panel Quarter Inch Jack"

It is currently plugged into a USB 3.0 on the rear panel. I have tried every USB port on my computer though, and it doesn't affect the issue.

Thank you very much for reading this and for any suggestions you might have!

1| Could you please pass on your full system's spec's inclusive of your OS and remaining peripherals connected?
2| If you're on Windows 10, please disable automatic device driver updates.
3| Given that this is a USB driven headset, you're issue isn't on the soundcard on the motherboard but is an issue with the USB ports or the drivers/app used to power your headset or the OS refusing to acknowledge the device. It would be a good idea though if you could disable the onboard soundcard, remove it's drivers and see if your headset regains functionality.
4| One other thing you should try is locate your audio device in Sound manager and under the recording tab, see if the Listen to this device is enabled.

5| Please make sure your BIOS and remaining device drivers(namely chipset/USB) are up to date. Please move your headset to an available USB 2.0 port instead of a USB3.0 port.
