Hello, thank's for coming to help me out.

Description:

I currently have a pretty good PC, I get low temperatures, apps open quickly, and my frame rates stay high; so I'm pretty happy. The only problem, at the foment, is that my boot-up times are pretty slow for an ssd(40 seconds to be exact) and I have no idea what the problem is, I checked the boot priority, I have fast boot enabled, and I actively use antivirus software to clean my PC.

Problem Diagnose:

It takes under 10 seconds to boot up the bios; the PC shows this splash screen with a blue windows logo with a black background, this is where the problem happens, It takes around 30 to 40 seconds to boot here; A window appear and I enter my password, from this point the pc another boot occurs, but it's rather quick, usually takes under 4 seconds.

To resume, what problems may I have that can cause a slow boot up?

PC Specs:

CPU: AMD fx 8320
gpu: radeon 7850(1GB vram)
case: cougar master solution atx case
ssd: sandisk 128gb
hdd:1Tb western digital caviar blue
psu: ultra 650w power supply
ram: pny 8gb(1333 mhz)
motherboard: asus m5a97 r.2

Solution
Lots of possibilities: Unless it's a fresh install, check you are using ahci, try forcing trim. Antivirus will slow boot also. so will any updates or win 10 unwanted changes. Your SanDisk may be a budget model (usually 120gb though) Win10 boots a little slower than 7. Your ram may be slightly slowing it if it's 1333 and single channel.

The solution may be to overclock than run in Fast Boot Mode. Overclocking on regular boot mode may run faster due to process efficiency. You could also check for bios updates from asus, amd and sandisk. Try manufacturers software downloads for the specific product you've got. There is usually a different number of ways to alter the speed of each component.

Hi,
I am using Dell Latitude E4310, earlier I was using 500 GB HDD with Windows 7, but few months later I upgraded to Samsung SSD 256 GB but I noticed ever since I changed from HDD to SDD the boot time increased about 1-2 mins earlier it was good with HDD. Any suggestion and help will be appreciated.

Also do let me know if the I need to do some changes form BIOS e.g: AHCI or RAID.

Hi folks, sorry to bring this all up again, but I'd rather post then make a new topic about this. My pc has just been upgraded to an i7 6700 with 16 gig ram and an ssd.

At first the boottimeit all was normal and pretty fast. 8 seconds. I installed black ops 3, payday 2 and star wars onto the ssd. And suddenly the ssd boottimes were 22 seconds. I asume this is due to the games being installed onto my ssd. I'm not making too much of a deal about it, just curious if I can solve this...

Am I correct? Is there another solution instead of putting all my games onto my hdd?

I would like to join discussion also. After Windows last big update (the one update in which they changed the look of start menu) my windows is starting up extremely slow when i mean extremely it takes about 2 minutes to start. Now i have solid pc and read write speeds of my ssd are about 400-450 when i test it. I know everything is good with my pc because i have linux installed also and for linux it takes freagink 11 seconds to start. My windows was starting fast when i fresh installed it and for a few months after that. Between 15-20 seconds. That's ok, but now, it takes 2 minutes to start.

I had a similar issue with Windows 10 hanging on boot once the windows logo appeared - causing at least 1 minute of delay. I opened up "Intel Rapid Storage Technology", turned off "Link Power Management", and restarted my computer. Boom. Everything is running nice and fast again.

Hope this helps!
