Hi I have recently joined the world of PC users (boy am I happy I did!) and I have been looking for a while for an answer to a question I have but could not find it anywhere so I thought I would come here and get some opinions.

My question is will getting high fps in games cause issues in my PC? Can it cause overheating?

Like I said i'm new to the whole PC side of things so I wanted to be sure I won't have any problems. I have been using VSync to limit my FPS but it is kind of annoying in some games so I just wanted to know if I should keep it on or be free to let my PC to go into the high FPS it can.

BTW my GPU is an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970 4GB, CPU is Intel Core I7 4790 3.6GHz

Ok well if I have not explained something very well, let me know and I will try to explain a bit more. Thanks for your help!
