So I have 4 hdd one being 2000 model 250 gb barracuda Seagate black drive which holds the windows 10 and mostly all the games but as I was running out of memory on that drive i figured why not install on d but to my surprise every single person on steam has a ssd only for os and a black drive for programs and games

All this time I was so stupid thinking if I install on d I will have performance issues but the truth is performance is much enhanced when your game is on another drive..is it true

Wrong.
SSD for OS and applications. Games if they fit.
Other games can go on other drives.

Trying to keep the SSD to be "OS only" is a waste of an SSD.

No.

Performance is RARELY affected depending on where it's installed.

Performance may vary a tiny bit if a game is installed on an SSD vs. mechanical HDD, but that's another discussion that is not relevant here.

But even it means that you can install at any drive without any performance issues and one thing I have noticed is the very fact that my hdd usage has gone down thanks God before when I used to install at c and keep open the task manager and when I used to quit game after hours of play in used to see that hdd usage was going between 70% but omg now I did the very same thing with installing on d drive and played for 2 hours straight and when I saw on task manager d drive usage 10% and c drive usage 5%.....so definitely installing games on other drives rather then c is the best choice as I saw it with my own eyes and all the steam users do that.....hopefully this ideology of only installing all the games and programs only on c will hopefully fade away as it degrades and consumes the hdd like crazy
