I have an AMD a6-6400k apu, and a radeon HD7850 2gb gpu. I am trying to get decent fps in csgo but i can only get around 40fps and sometimes but rarely over 60. Is this because the cpu is not good enough? Is it the reason I am getting low fps?

My specs:
a6-6400k apu
HD7850 2gb gpu
gigabyte f2a88xm-ds2
8gb gskill ares RAM

From what I just read in a quick google search it looks like the 7850 should be able to get over 100 FPS with max settings at 1080p in CS:GO.

My guess is that the CPU is the problem. The A6 and the AMD APUs in general are not strong gaming CPUs. Their man benefit is for people who don't want to buy a GPU and use their integrated graphics instead.

I think the $70 Athlon X4 860k is the best CPU you can get for your current motherboard. Its single core performance is only slightly better than your A6 but the A6 is only a dual core and the Athlon is a quad core.

I think upgrading to that will help a little. I'm just not sure whether it will be enough to make the upgrade worth it or not. If you want anything stronger than the 860k you...
