Is there a way to install windows and keep D and E drive and clean install in C drive?

I know... im sorry for such a noob question. I have windows 8 (legit key). My windows is pretty * up state right now. And i have nothing in C drive except some games which i dont need but in my E and D drive i have photos and videos from my phone of like 3 years and i have NO backup at all (even online) and i cant back it up now since my windows is * and wont even go past dekstop... I wanna be sure that i can install windows and keep my E and D drive intact or ill be * ... Please help is appreciated. I know its pretty basic question but stakes are so high... :/

if d: and e: are separate drives, then simply disconnect them while doing the install and then redo it once windows is running again.

otherwise just be careful at install and be sure to point windows to install on the c: partition. it won't mess with the other partitions during install unless you tell it to!!

im sorry but how to disconnect the e and d drive? i mean they are partition in my computer and only c is where my windows 8 is installed which is giving me problems.

thanks for replying guys. one last question. I should go for custom installation (advanced) and not upgrade right?

if you have a friend that has a spare hard drive you can install windows 10 to in clean. then when your able to get into your old hard drive you can back your personal files onto the temp drive or online then wipe the old drive then unplug the temp drive...install windows back onto your main drive and put your data back onto the main drive from the temp drive. if you dont have temp drive you can use a usb to sata cable and from another pc move your data off the drive.
