I've been using the phenom for 5 years now,and it kinda started showing how old it became recently when i was playing BF4 multiplayer and Blade & Soul. I kinda need a processor with a better single core performance.
Since i'm in budget i'm thinking of buying a dirt cheap motherboard and dont ever touch overclocking.

What do you think?

My specs:
Amd 1055t cpu ( can't oc more than 3.2 ghz which is turbo speed anyway)
amd r7 370 2gb gpu
1333 mhz 8gb ram
gigabyte 970a ud3p mobo

Solution
Your X6-1055T has a passmark rating of 5059 and a single thread rating of 1115.
The i5-4460 has a total rating of 6621 and a single thread rating of 1948.

Worth is something only YOU can determine.

Yes an i5 is much better, but getting a better video card would make more of an impact. The R7 370 is barely a midrange video card.

Since you have a good motherboard, you could consider getting a FX6300 or FX8350.

You could get a FX8350 and a R9 380 or R9 380x for about the same price you could get an i5 + motherboard.

Absolutely but go with the Intel Core i5-4670K, you can overclock it to 4.5ghz with your hands tied behind your back, well that's an exaggeration you'll need you hands to do it!

And of course a good aftermarket air cooler.

Edit: Disregard, I missed you had no overclocking plans! My Bad! :pfff:

Dollar/euro is way too expensive where i live, and r7 370 is what i could afford to upgrade from my old 6850 for the sake of 1080p.

Since i'm mostly playing cpu intensive games like mmos,i'm wondering if it'll be worth to get a new mobo and cpu compared to my current one.

I can live with playing low-medium settings on new games as long as it 's 1080p and doesnt stutter since most of them look great even in lowest settings anyway.

It surely would be better to get something better than my current gpu but at the moment i can't afford both upgrades.

You will see huge FPS jump in online games and also more stable FPS with new i5.
If you can get a nice h97 mobo with that CPU,mobo is also important part that can affect performance.
As for BF4 you will see really huge fps boost on all map sizes and for Blade & Soul i don't know what to say.I did try the game but it is not optimized good but still i think you will see allot of improvement.
You will need to reinstall Windows when you get new parts.
I know it is hard time when you need to upgrade.Atm i'm in process of getting my $$ for my huge upgrade of all parts expect GPU and PSU, I will wait for Pascal and Polaris to come out to see will it be worth to buy them.
I wish you best of luck with your new parts and happy gaming.

I second the FX8350/70 and a R9, great upgrade :)

FX-8350 has a good passmark rating of 8949. That is when you can get all 8 threads working.
Unfortunately few games can use more than 2-3 threads.
Then, the single thread rating is only 1504; nowhere near even the cheapest modern intel processor.

Yes go for it.It is just a bit better than 4460,but if you say for lower price then it is good deal.
