I'm not sure if there is a thing on the forum already from me but my page refreshed while I clicked publish but whatever... I want to know if my motherboard will bottleneck the new ram I will get which hopefully will be 1600 MHz. the pc is a dell OptiPlex 330 with everything the same as in 4 gig 800 MHz sticks of ram and I'm hoping to upgrade it. I appreciate your help!

No:
1) It's pointless, since you get zero benefit from increasing memory speed if the CPU can't handle it
2) Your manual clearly states 800MHz is the limit
3) The absolute fastest DDR2 memory is...

I find it different that your more confused at my post then I am at computers... I clearly meant that I wanted to upgrade the ram to a faster version even (1330mhz is it?) is fast enough. I just want a speed upgrade and replace the 4 gigs with another 4 gigs that's faster. This is a yes or no question.

3) The absolute fastest DDR2 memory is 1200MHz, only DDR3 had 1333MHz and up (and both shared 1066MHz speeds even if the memory was completely different)

Basically, you're seriously confused about computers and think DDR2 and DDR3 are compatible. They are not the same thing and cannot be interchanged!

I am fully aware that ddr2 and ddr3 are not interchangeable. My question "CLEARLY" quoted I think 3 times now is finally answered but with a lot more crap added to it! ALL I wanted to know was what I stated In my question which was will my motherboard bottleneck my ram and in this case the cpu will too. My question was answered with a very snippy comment which was rude but I got my answer. Thank you.
