Trouble shooting issues

Hi all,

I've had a bunch of issues with this computer (built myself). Last night it was running buttery-smooth, but now I can't get the mobo to post. We've ruled out the ram and video card by using them in a diff comp. We've tried a PSU known to work and hooked it up to the mobo.

I can't totally rule out the psu or the cpu, I guess, but I have no reason to suspect they aren't functioning properly. The mobo has a speaker, but doesn't beep or anything when I power it on (Even if I power it up with no ram in it). Additionally, I cannot shut the comp down via the power button anymore, but have to directly switch off the psu.

My mobo is gigabyte ga-790xta-ud4. My cpu is an amd phenom black ii. I built this computer in early 2010. I've checked the capacitors, and they seem fine (not bloated or anything).

Are there any additional diagnostics that I can run, apart from buying a new mobo or cpu?

The fans were running but it would not post. The motherboard was listed above. The CPU Phenom II x4 965. The video card worked in a different pc. We tried a known working PSU and that did not solve. So at this point I'm assuming something with motherboard or power connections on mobo.

made shure the 24 and 8 pins from psu are plug in then use the second pci-e slot for gpu also use only 1 ram module and the os hhd plug in the board ,they other thing if you could memetest all your ram in the same time check if you acces the bios if the current date is on this board have dual bios so check your user manual how to switch to the other bios .
