Corsair RM 750 or CS550? I don't have so many options and these PSUs are my only choice to get GTX 950 running and save my build for a good time. Note that I have random power cuts in my country and lack of variety is holding me back.

I can get my hands on these PSUs;

I am not getting so many answers :[ I first picked CS550 then 2 people on this web and a friend of mine said to get a RM750 and that it would be a good/great if I could get a RM PSU and now some people say it isn't great either. What do I do? :/

I don't overclock, use my pc for more than 4-5 hours a day (not continuously), game every time I am on PC and whatever stresses my PC.

What I have right now;

Asus H97M E Mobo
Core i3 4160 4th gen
Corsair Vengeance (2x4gb)
Normal Thermaltake Case with a PSU (Going to change the case when I get my new PSU and the GPU, ran outta money, saving up)
Seagate 1000gb

A 950 isn't as power-hungry as you might think. If you have a 6-pin PCI connector, then you're probably fine with your current PSU.

It's not worth buying an expensive PSU just because you're getting a 950. If you were building from scratch, then yes, a good PSU is recommended.

If your current PSU absolutely cannot run it, then i would recommend looking around a bit more for budget units like Antec VP series. I'm sure you don't have to spend that much on a RM or CS PSU, as they're quite expensive even for their class.

No, its this normal PSU that comes with the case without the connector and I believe it won't run 950.

As I already mentioned, I don't have so many choices :[

It's a rebadged FSP Aurum. A bit worse than the Corsair units, but still decent-ish.

You've dismissed the cooler master silent pro gold 550wvfor some reason & you shouldn't, its on a par (or probably better) than the cs550 & considerably cheaper.

On a budget & with your component list in mind its the model I'd go for personally.

Well that's saving good money, how would this Cooler master 550w and a strix or gigabyte gtx 960 do? I could spend less on the PSU and whats left can go to GPU, or is 950 just enough for this build and psu? I am not a 1080p gamer, I am cool as far as the latest titles run at high settings with not so big resolution.

The guy above said its a relabeled FSP Aurum and one review web says nearly the same " FSP aurum based " or something, what's the deal with that?

Coolmaster don't make their own PSU internals , evga don't, corsair don't - they're all made by other manufacturers & labelled by those companies.
Ultimately the only psu's that are made by their labelled manufacturers are delta, fsp, superflower & seasonic.

Fsp make some poor units & some top quality ones , & also some fairly average but reliable ones - which is about where the aurum range sits.

Which RM750 is the latest?

Cooler master, does it matter that its an old psu? (2013). I would rly get the cooler master psu if its a decent unit for that price. I just need like " its fine, grab the cooler master it's good and worth it "

The CM will work just fine and is of quite good quality

I'll put it like this:

If i were building a mid-range gaming system, and wanted a 500W PSU, i would not pick the Cooler Master. But since you have to pick between a more expensive RM750 , or a cheaper but still good Silent Pro, i would get the Silent Pro in this case.

What do you think about strix 960/gigabyte gtx 960 and Cooler master psu addition to my build? I could add the other money to gpu instead. I'm fine with 950 if 960 might be trouble for the silent pro psu.

Forgot one thing, do I have to worry about CM PSU's compatibility with other components? My i3 4160, Asus H97M E Motherboard and what not. I don't even know if compatibility even matters, what confused me is that RM750 and CS550 said they are both compatible with 4th gen intel processors (4160 = 4th gen), please confirm.
