Hi all,

New poster but long time fan. I need advise I have a home pc with the following specs in a antec 900 full tower. It was built in 2001 and Im no expert but I did do it after lots of reading here. Anyway we do some video and picture editing and really no gaming and wont overclock. I do want to upgrade the system and this started with me wanting to add a bigger ssd H/D. I figure if im in there I may want to swap ot processor and MB. I do want a good machine that I can push to the limits if needed.

Looking at my specs can you give me opinions on good MB and processor and whatever else I need. I have no problem buying what I need so Im not on a specific budget. Just updating a good home unit. I will use it for Video and audio and pictures mainly.

Thanks for any advise.

The locked version of the i7 will be a great upgrade for editing as well as more and faster RAM. The Samsung 950 Pro is currently the fastest consumer drive out. You should probably freshen up the PSU since they don't last forever. You'll also need a new copy of Windows if you don't have a retail version. If you're video editing involves any kind encoding, a discrete GPU such as the GTX 970 can really speed up rendering times.
