That statement is completely false. EVGA has quite decent cooling and the fans shut completely off when the card is not in use.

In fact I'm actually going to recommend this card by EVGA. It's their SSC version, so you will have extreme overclocks out of the box, as well as more headroom to do overclock some more if you choose to do so.

Honestly, I love my EVGA GTX960 SSC. It's a huge card but the fans are quiet and even throttle based on usage and temperature. Their price isn't bad either. Hope this helps.

damn i've got a 500w power supply. I dont even know if that would fit in my pc lol :D

not for the GTX 970 though. even though the card itself is great, only the 970 version is known for louder and coil whine cooling. even though the 970 has faulty cooling across the board, the EVGA one has the loudest.
no matter what, the EVGA is still a great company, despite the 970 error
