Hello everyone I know I'm in the wrong category but for some odd reason on mobile it won't let me switch to Storage. Anyways on topic, I built a new computer and I took my old SSD and HDD out of my old computer in my new, it's searching for its previous motherboard so I need to know how to completely wipe or reformat them (idk what to do in this situation) but I don't want to burn a disk or use a USB and all that other stuff. Is there just a way to delete it all and make it new motherboard ready? Thanks :) btw idc if it deletes Windows. I'm buying a new Windows key.

Solution
When doing a clean install, the Windows installation will ask you where you want to place it. You can select the option to format the existing partition or delete the partition and create a new one. Either one will effectively wipe the old installation.

dirty fix if you can get into safe mode f8...go into window system device manager remove all of the devices there and uninstall anti virus and gpu software....reboot let windows install the newer drivers from the new mb cd. if it works you can call ms say your old mb kicked the bucket and they may turn your new build on for you. in the real wold from another pc your better off making a new window 10 boot usb stick and booting for the stick and starting fresh. it run for 30 days before you need a new key. or you can get on the window 10 testers as long as you keep downloading the beta builds they give you a windows key for free.
