hey guys im just wondering if its worth overclocking a non k version of skylake i7 6700... if so how do you overclock it and would it be worth it?

Solution
if u play on NA HCS then gimme a shout
i can show u in game how fast my computer runs.
my upgrade was so serious its pretty much night and day.
when i had my q9300 set up i was behind on load by on average 2seconds
after my upgrade its turned around. 80% of the time im first one who loads if not at the same time as the next guy.. and he probably runs a machine 30% more expensive than i am.. i say that cuz i actually asked 2 different ppl who loaded nearly the same time as i am..
so is it worth overclocking? honestly./ with a i7 u dont need to touch it if ur playing diablo. but its always good to have that option for the future sake

u heard its hard from a tech? or u heard its hard from someone online that has close to no idea how to overclock?

honestly. if u have the bank for the i7 skylake. either go and get the k series or just let it be.
the i7 is pretty damn overpowered

curious what games are u playing or planning to play?
if anything.. u want to get a gfx card between mid-high tier range that for sure would be better than a cpu in terms of i7-i7k

A i7-6700 (non K) does not legitimately allow overclocking.
Some motherboards had a "SKY OC" option which did allow non K BCLK overclocking, but Intel closed that loophole.
Regardless, you were looking at perhaps a 10% boost to an already excellent processor.
It is doubtful that you would notice the difference.
