Hey,
I have been putting up with to what i believe is a poor performing gpu and lately it has been infuriating.
My build specs:
i7 6700 k
msi gtx 980 ti
16gb ddr4
z170 asus pro gaming mobo
win 7 pro 64bit

So my issues are poor performance on every game i play.
I have read many articles and tried many many tweaks and settings to no avail.
I game with others who have gtx970ti and earlier models who have better game performance and higher fps that my system can achieve.

csgo struggles past 150fps i know this is adequate but fps drops well below 100 which is very noticeable.
Please if anyone can help would be greatly appreciated im to the point of returning it and seeing if they can test it but will be without a gpu while this happens.
Very frustrating and thanks again for any assistance

Hello... 1) Have you tried disabling core parking in win 7 registry... I suggest doing that. youtube it.
2) What FREQ is your memory running at and is the Command rate ( CR ) 1T or 2T?
3) Do you want a stable experience such as the use of VSync setting in your game or NV app?
4) What monitor settings are you running and capable of running?
5) if you disabled sound card hardware in Windows Device manager does game Play Improve?
6) do you have a Blue tooth or wireless card/chip on your MB to disable too?
7) Are you experiencing this over your wired lan Connection with other live players? can you test game Scene/performance without a LAN connection?

i have under device manager
sound, video and game controllers
i have disabled them to no improvement.

I have also done fresh install of gpu drivers using DDU in safe mode.

http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/8094597/fs/7193982/fs/7968954#

Compared to two other results, I get good scores in this but horrible game performance i have no idea.
I did notice a difference in our CPU physical/logical cores ? could this be an issue

It looks like you're experiencing what I'm experiencing.
Your Firestrike results indicates a Poor Physics score which is CPU dependent.
My CPU seems to be running fine however my ram isn't. Download and try MaxxMem2 to do a test to see what the ram read/write/copy/latency speeds are.
Mine is reading at 3000mb/s when it should be around 40000mb/s. Pretty sure that is holding me back.
Only problem is I can't find a solution anywhere and nobody seems to know how to fix it.

So it might be that but I'd recommend getting CPU-Z and checking everything is correct. And that the values in your memory tab are on the right frequency, timings & profile. Check the SPD tab as a reference to the different timings too.

It may be CPU too. On the firestrike tests I noticed the other two you compared against have 8 logical cores instead of your 4. Which looks like maybe you have Hyperthreading disabled? I'm not sure how much impact this would have on performance anyway.

I'm not very tech savvy, so I can't really offer much help. We just seem to be in a similar predicament here.
Hopefully someone else knows what I'm talking about and can better assist you.

I'll keep an eye on this to see if one of us figures it out.

Hey I know your frustration, fortunately for me i found the cause of my issues which you highlighted in your reply.
Hyperthreading was disabled and wow what a massive difference it made.
Games run noticeably smoother and have doubled fps in games such as arma 3 fallout 4 and csgo.
Arma 3 runs amazingly, it honestly feels like a new pc.
I sincerely hope you sort your dramas goodluck.

Oh man, it's great to see you worked it out. Glad to know it was just the hyperthreading and nothing overly serious. Looks like I know something about computers after all. Hopefully I can get mine sorted soon, thanks! :)
