i have realtek hd audio drivers installed on my laptop.
whenever i play any audio there is a buzzing and rattling sound.Like when playing some movies the background music "buzzes" while voices are clear or when there is lound cheering or something , it buzzes a lot.In some videos even voices "vibrate".By vibrate i mean it sounds like its coming from 2 sources. This happens in both speakers. It also happens when playing music. In some songs it happens all the time,in others its less.I think it happens only with particular fequencies. When playing music my pc hangs a lot too and music skips too.
In this video for example, buzzing happens the whole time, every note is "buzzing".
now the weird part:
None of the above mentioned things(slight buzzing happens , but very rarely) when i turn on music mode or movies mode or any mode in audio wizard in realtek audio manager.(see pic)
pic

But the sound becomes tinny and volume is very less than when the audio wizard is off.
Is this a hardware problem or a driver problem?
Ps. I have an asus laptop with sonicMaster , if that's relevant.

Buzzing is usually some form of interference, if so likely nothing you can do as it's a hardware design problem. Turning on those modes is adding filters which could be cleaning the interference but also filtering the sound and why you don't like it. Only thing I can think of try is an external usb soundcard, I expect this will improve things but that's no guarantee

I don't think there are any sonic master drivers.
Asus website provides (outdated) Realtek drivers only.

Hey,
I'd first try some HEADPHONES and see if any major issues come through.

If not, then the issue is with the physical SPEAKERS built into the laptop. That may just be the quality that they are (unless they were better before) or one may have come loose, or even been damaged so you get unintended audio frequencies (and some missing).

Buzzing disappears?
It's hard for me to comment without hearing, but this may be exacerbating an underlying speakers damaged condition. Frankly, pretty much every laptop sounds horrible to me anyway.

Since it's apparently BOTH speakers I'm inclined to suspect crappy speakers.

Other:
You can also try different audio players if you haven't tried more than one. I suggest trying K-Lite Standard and use the included media player (WMPC-HC). I've used it for years and it's rock solid. Probably will make no noticeable difference though.

audio is fine when using headphones in all modes.

If the speakers are faulty shouldn't they buzz / vibrate in whichever audio mode I choose? :??:
