i5 3470 vs i7 2600

If I had the choice of the 3470 or 2600 I'd take the 2600. It's only a year older but outperforms the i5 plus it has hyper-threading. Win win. Grab the i7 and be happy.

i7 2600 doesn't support ddr3 1600, it only supports ddr3 1333 and ddr3 1066

Face palm. It does!!! You could even have 2400 instead of 1333. RAM is not an issue here. Why are you spreading nonsense?

Face palm again. That is how companies play it safe. If you say it allows a certain RAM then you aren't liable for issues with higher speeds, although everyone (including myself) use higher speeds with Sandy Bridge (what the 2xxx is) Stop spreading fallacies. This cpu will work with any ddr3 RAM.
