hello guys ! my sister is giving me a 8GB hyper X dual 1866 for my old PC. i was wondering if the RAM will work. the MOBO shows (2 x DIMM, Max. 8GB, DDR3 1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 Hz) but im having a doubt on my procie. what am i going to do in the future, should i underclock the RAM? or is it fine?

Solution
If the mobo specs are max of 8GB and it's 2 slots, generally that means the total of 8GB is split into a 2x4GB config, which is indicative that it won't take 8GB sticks. If it were to work will prob default (hopefully) to the mobos default of 800 and mighrt be able to run at 1066 with your CPU (that's what it's MC is rated to)
