Hi, I just made my new PC and after the system simply not outputting to the screen, I secured the CPU power cables, then I booted in to the BIOS no issues!

But then, after exiting the BIOS, ready to boot in to windows, I got this screen:

I selected the boot device in the BIOS to be my SSD which I have taken out of my old PC, along with the HDD which was in my old PC, PLease help!

If you've built a new PC it is highly likely you will need to re-install Windows - it probably won't just boot up and run from your old system drive in the new hardware. Or if it does, you're asking for trouble later - Windows installs with reference to the hardware it finds itself on.

You are gonna have to insert a boot CD or USB and select it to boot from BIOS.. Then you will get into the windows installation window.. You will select custom installation and you will press format to the drive that has windows and if you want, format all others as well! You will delete their partitions too! Afterwards select the drive you want it to be installed and windows will do the rest!

An OEM Windows OS is keyed to the original motherboard on which it is installed. 'Maintenance' motherboard replacements are allowed but you cannot use that as an excuse for a 'slide-ways' upgrade to a newer model motherboard and/or chipset.

Simply transferring the SSD/HDD to a new motherboard is unlikely to work unless it is the same model motherboard and chipset, and peripherals.

Ok, thanks for all the help guys, I'm gunna export everything on my SSD and HDD to another server HDD, then I'll do a fresh install of windows on the SSD on my new PC, after that should I format the HDD in my new PC? Then copy the contents of the original HDD back over from my server HDD on to the newly formatted HDD?
