Hey guys,
That's the CPU 8 pin connector of my Motherboard (MSI mortar B150m) : http://hpics.li/0f3b98a
That's the CPU 4x2 pin connector of my PSU (Fortron Hyper M 700) as posted on their website : http://hpics.li/cafd42c
But in real the PSU 4x2 pin looks like that : http://hpics.li/59518f1
That means the left 4 pin matches the symbol, but the right 4 pin doesn't as there are no squares (ie no ground)
Note that although the right 4 pin doesn't match the symbols, I can actually plug it in...
Since it's an hybrid alimentation, I could set-up another cable with a 4 pin connection to replace the left one : http://hpics.li/47419a5
But not only does this solution add another cable to my already crowded tower, I am also concerned about whether or not both cables will have the same output from the PSU...
I am pretty sure they don't.
So my questions to you experts:
1. Could this be a fabrication defect from the PSU ?
I find it hard to believe that a manufacturer would make such a mistake...
2. Probably a silly question, but is it okay to connect the left pin to the CPU even though the symbols don't match ? (again, the symbols don't match but I can plug it in)
3. Is it okay to replace the black cable with the white cable (as depicted in my last photo) ?
I hope my explanations were clear enough.
I am definetely looking forward to some help from you guys !
Thanks
