Hi,
I have Creative i-Trigue l3500 speakers (2.1) connected to a laptop and the problem is that no bass is coming from the subwoofer. Weird thing is that when when it disappeared, I disconnected the power supply from the sub and reconnected again, it worked. And then it stopped working again after a few minutes. I did that like three times (sometimes I reconnected the volume control unit from the sub too). The reconnecting thing doesn't work now, no bass is coming from my subwoofer, all I can hear is a slight low freq. humming when I put my ear as close as possible to the sub.
I'm pretty sure it's not a laptop fault because there's no bass when I connect the speakers to a phone too.
I know that the speakers are old and that might be a problem but maybe it could still work.
Thank you in advance.

the port you plug your sub into maybe damaged, if volume is controlled by a knob instead of buttons, sometimes carbon builds up on the contacts (at least on old stereo receivers, not sure about these speakers in particular), the cable to the sub might be internally damaged, etc. lotta thing can do this. some more likely than others. try gently jiggling the cord while using them. if sound cuts in and out it is a damaged cord most likely, if no change: VERY gently move the sub connector while using. if sound cuts in and out the connector is most likely damaged. if no change: adjust volume on the system a little and slowly. if you hear any crackling or sound cutting in/out: carbon/gunk on knob contacts.
or the sub might simply be borked, hopefully not though.
hope this helps

Tried to do everything you said and it doesn't seem to be the problem, no cuts or cracks appeared. The only time I get a sort of quick, one second crack is when I plug in the sub connector back to the sub while using the speakers.
I also noticed that the knob controlling the sound is kinda loose and sometimes the sound goes louder or quieter on its own.
The other thing I forgot to mention is that when the speakers are on but I don't listen to anything, I can hear a slight white noise coming from my speakers.
