I'm looking at buying this board and want to know whether it would be a good contender for 3-way SLI and multiple PCI-E SSD's (Both Add-in card and M.2, maybe U.2)

Solution
The issue will come from your processor since Intel had decided to allocate all of the available lanes to the processor while 8 are on the chipset on the board. What processor are you looking to pair with that board? If an Intel 5820K then you've got 28 lanes to work with. When we look at motherboard manufacturer's you'll notice that some slots are disabled when you have other slots populated.

As per Asus's product specification's page, You will end up with 3 way SLI with each slot running electrically on 8 lanes which leaves 4 lanes off your entry level i7 to allocate to your M.2 SSD. Could you please get back to us with your proposed build in case there are better options the community could offer in lieu of...
