I did it. I spilled coffee on my keyboard. Being a sunday I had the free time to clean the coffee off. I put isopropyl alcohol on a piece of cloth and went to town on the keycaps.
When I connected the keyboard back however, it turned on, was recognized by windows, then turned off. It then went on on this cycle of turn on, turn off.
I restarted the computer and where usually the backlight could turn on after POST, it didn't and instead the num lock and caps lock LEDs glowed faintly.
I figure it might be a short on the keyboard but I don't know for sure and the keyboard is glued shut, so I'd rather not pry it open.
