This is my first build and I have everything ordered exept the PSU because idk what to get. I was planning to get the corsair cx600 but saw alot of bad reviews so now want to get something different that can power 600w, be semi modular and not supper expensive.

I probably will overclock the CPU but only a little bit. And Ill be using a terrible video card because I'm going to save up for now and get a good one latter. But for now my friend is giving me the EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512mb card

Ok, so I'd plan for a PSU that can handle the card you DO plan to get later, which would be, what? Most PSU recommendations are based solely off the GPU card to be used, as they include and account for the rest of the system and since the graphics card is generally the biggest draw anyhow, that's the item that really matters. CPU follows behind that and the rest of the system is pretty much negligible in comparison.

Any idea what card you plan to get? Price range for a probable card?

That greatly depends on the rest of the configuration. For a Haswell or Skylake based system, that wouldn't be a very good choice at all unless you want to turn off the C6/C7 states in the bios since that unit is not Haswell/Intel low power state compatible.

There are also a whole lot of cards that won't run properly or safely on that 520w unit, or at the very least, call for a higher capacity unit according to recommendations, so knowing the card model or desired card model is kind of important before making a PSU recommendation. If for example, he wanted to run a 380x, that unit would not meet recommendations, especially if the CPU is also going to be overclocked.

Well I'm not really sure, something not super expensive but at least 2gb or even 4gb. And obviously so it would work with all my stuff. But for the price range I think something between 100-150$ and since I'm not really familiar with video cards can you give me some tips from personal experiences

I don't know what kind of budget you have in mind, but if you don't know what card model you might go with later, I'd recommend something like this just to play it safe. Still not Haswell compatible, but again, it can be used with those Intel chips if you turn off the C6/C7 states in the bios, and should handle 90% of single card models out there aside from the highest end AMD and Nvidia cards.

If you plan to get a 150.00 graphics card, then a much lower capacity power supply than the one I listed above should be fine. About the best GPU card you're going to get for that price is this one:

Which will run perfectly fine on a unit like this, as well as the rest of your system, even when overclocked moderately.

Personally though, for that card, and overclocking, the Seasonic S12II-520 linked to above by labanged would be a better option if the budget allows it. The VP-450 is pretty good for a budget unit, but it's not meant for gaming cards really. How much are you actually wanting to invest in a PSU, because there are much better, more efficient models available for slightly more.
