nvidia drivers crash then games run badly

i have an asus strix gtx 970 and the drivers are 364.72, the latest ones . when turn my pc on they crash almost straight away and then games (mainly black ops 3) run at an unplayable fps. this has been happening with older drivers to and i have tried reinstalling the drivers but no difference. please help.

Do you have a multimonitor setup? The newest drivers are having issues with those types. I'd go back to 362 either way to see if that fixes it. I had to for 364.51 because it kept making my screen go to static, and the rollback fixed it. Make sure to use DDU to uninstall your current drivers if you decide to try the rollback.
