Acer laptop purchased October 2015 with windows 10. I have Qualcomm atheros qca9377 wireless network adaptor. I came back from holiday and I have not been able to detect my wireless network in my apartment since I've been back. I've taken my laptop to cafes and no problems there. My mobile picks up the network fine. My laptop picks up surrounding networks but just cannot find our network. I feel like it's probably an easy fix or some setting change. I've searched some forums but I haven't had much luck. Its driving me bonkers. Let me know if I'm leaving out any crucial information needed.
Most grateful,
John from the internet

So the laptop works everywhere else but at home......

Is it still trying to connect to the Starbucks wifi?

Go into Device Manager > Network Adapters and see what it tells you about the adapter and configuration.

Also the Network and Sharing Center. Check all of the adapter settings.

What DNS gateway is being used? I think your router is AudioCodes (via the model number and Dodo reference). Default IP is 192.168.2.1, subnet 255.255.255.0. That is the DNS gateway that your adapter should be looking for unless your roomate changed it.

Please try "ipconfig /all" on the laptop again and post the results. Thanks.

I just ran it twice. It just keeps trying to get me to automatically connect to a Starbucks Wi-Fi. A Wi-Fi network that is no where near my apartment.

Can you run and post the results of "ipconfig /all" via the command prompt?

Doing so will provide information about your wireless adapter settings that can be compared to your network configuration.

You may also be able to compare the mobile's configuration to the laptop as well to see what may be different.

Who manages your network's router? Router make and model?

You may need some information from the router to get properly reconfigured if that is indeed the matter.

Since I'm typing through my mobile I'm going to try to relay the info in a different manner but Ethernet adapter Ethernet media state : media disconnected
Description : realtor PCIe GBE Family Controller
DHCP Enabled: yes
Autoconfig enabled: yes

Wireless lan adapter Wi-Fi:
Media state: media disconnected
Connection-specific DNS Suffix: home
Description: Qualcomm atheros qca9377 wireless network adaptor
DHCP Enabled: yes
Autoconfiguration enabled; yes
Wireless lan adapter local area connection 2:
Media state disconnected
Description Microsoft Wi-Fi direct virtual adapter
Dhcp enabled yes
Autoconfig enabled yes

I got a little lazy at the end.

Also my router is from Dodo isp and I'm not sure about the brand. It says gohub also. I wasn't sure if that was the brand but the model number is MP264DB.

The router manager is my roommate. I'm not too sure how tech savvy he is. He works in graphic design so I'm sure he's quite capable of working with me on it.

I just popped in at my mates place to borrow some internet. Updated my network drivers and I guess I was missing one. I got back home. I am discovering like twice as many networks than earlier today but still not mine.

ipconfig is reporting that your wireless adapter is disconnected. Do you plug in anything else while at home? Some device or peripheral that may cause a conflict? Would expect some error message if that were the case. Overall - just trying to determine what else may be different at home.

Has "disconnect" changed with the driver update?

Double check all of your wireless adapter settings with respect to your home network.

You can also try ipconfig /flushdns and "start fresh" in a sense.

Sometimes it may take a device a bit of time to rejoin its network.

If it does not rejoin your home network, run ipconfig /all again while active on another wireless network.

I don't normally plug any devices into my laptop. The other day I plugged in my mobile to extract a few photos but that was about it. I did just do ipconfig /all and some new stuff came up after I did the flush. Windows ip config came up and ip routing enabled: no wins proxy enabled: no

Ethernet adapter Ethernet:
Media state: disconnected
Dhcp enabled: yes
Autoconfig enabled: yes

Wireless lan adapter local area connection 2:
Media state: disconnected
Description: Microsoft Wi-Fi direct virtual adapter
Dchp; yes
Auto config: yes

Wireless lan adapter Wi-Fi
Media state: disconnected
Description: Qualcomm atheros qca9377 Wireless network adapter
Dchp; yes
Autoconfig; yes

Tunnel adapter teredo tunneling pseudo-interface
Media state disconnected
Description teredo tunneling pseudo-interface
Dchp; no
Autoconfig: yes

Mostly the same just a few differences. Not sure what to make of it.

Thanks for taking the time to help by the way.
