my 16 gb sd card was working fine in my windows10 tablet ... then all of a sudden one day it stops working it tells me i need to format my card before i can use it so i try a standard format and it said it could not complete the format but didnt say why... i tried evey formatting setting i could and still the same ... i even tried going through the property settings nd nothing is my sd card dead or can it be saved

Unfortunately this is a typical behaviour for failing memory cards and USB flash drives. I'd recommend that you connect it to a computer or another device and try reformatting it again, to see if the same thing happens. Another option would be to do that via the SD card manufacturer's formatting tool (most of the USB flash drive and memory card manufacturers offer such utilities/tools), to see if it helps.
If nothing seems to be working, I'd recommend that you try to get your card replaced if it's still under warranty or get a new one.
