Hello, this is my first post, but i have a serious issue for a while now with my computer. When i put my processor under load and i look at HWMonitor, some times the V will drop from 1.300 to 0.800, when i am in a game i can really feel that it somehow thermal throttles or something because my fps drops like a mad man.

AMD fx-8350
Processor cooler is an liqmax 2 240
MSI gtx 970
corsair cs650M

i would really appreciate any help, in the bios i dissabled cool n quiet and everything almost, and nothing helps and i really can not find the problem here.

Solution
There are a few; Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P, MSI 970 Gaming, the new GIGABYTE...

i have a total of 5 fans in my case, i have never heard of these VRM's on the motherboard, but i have no idea how i would be able to cool them as they are on my motherboard, and how does watercooling make it worse?

What motherboard do you have? Unlike the AMD stock cooler, liquid cooling doesn't blow air over the components around the CPU. If you don't know where the VRM is, then the picture at this link should help: http://www.overclock.net/t/1246868/question-about-vrm-heatsink

I have an asrock 970 extreme3 r2.0, i have an fan at the back blowing out, maybe if i turn it around to blow air in i would not have the problem anymore? I am going to put an corsair af fan there, now have the enermax stock fan there

Add a fan that blows directly on the poor VRM as specified by ASRock for 125W processors: http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970%20Extreme3%20R2.0/?cat=CPU (* For cooling the CPU and its surrounding components, please install a CPU cooler with a top-down blowing design.) The reason is that a 4+1 phase VRM isn't powerful enough for a 125W CPU and it has to throttle it to protect itself when it gets too hot. Using water cooling just makes the issue worse; the motherboard was designed to use the stock cooler or a similar cooler design.

how do i get to blow a fan directly on them? as i said is it maybe usefull to let my rear fan blow in instead of out? would that maybe solve the issue?

only using 6 cores did not help too, would it maybe help if i get a new motherboard that does support water cooling better?

That wouldn't help and the internal case temperature would increase.

There are a few; Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P, MSI 970 Gaming, the new GIGABYTE GA-970-Gaming SLI (not to be confused with the GIGABYTE GA-970-Gaming that doesn't have the same VRM), and the ASUS M5A97 R2.0.

My choice would be the new Gigabyte GA-970-Gaming SLI (Intel LAN and Realtek ALC1150 codec) followed by the GA-970A-UD3P.
