Hello, lads.

Recently I was planning an upgrade of PSU in my system and my choice is RM550x. Is it good choice for futureproof middle-end gaming system?

My current config is low-end:

Case: Noname model with 1x120mm fan (this sux :c). I remember it was called something like "Ultra".
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P Revision 1.0
CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 435
CPU Heatsink: Stock
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 1x8GB DDR3 1866 MHz
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon HD 5450 GV-R545OC-512I
HDD: ExcelStor Technology J8160S 160GB SATA-II (SATA-300)

I don't know is my current PSU bad or not, but it's really old:
Power Master PM 400-12 Intel 2.2 TUV

It works very nicely for 9 years, it had hard shutdowns exceptionally rarely.

And there's desired system:

Case: Corsair Obsidian 450D
Motherboard: ASUS Z170-A
CPU: Intel Core i3-6100
CPU Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
GPU: ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 960 4GB (STRIX-GTX960-DC2OC-4GD5)
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 2x4GB DDR4 2133 or 2400 MHz
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD10EZEX

Will this PSU easily support that kind of system with future upgrades? Sorry for my english if there's something wrong.

The RMX lineup from Corsair is first rate , buy one for sure.

Top quality you won't be disappointed.

The Corsair RM550x is the newest model of the semi-passive fully-modular Corsair RMx series made by Channel Well Technology. It is basically an evolution of the older RM series but the RMx platform has undergone some major changes. While it is still only 80 PLUS Gold certified (@115 V and the certification is not public yet) as the RM, it is now covered by 7-year warranty. The RMx units are now also specified for continuous operation at 50 °C (previously only 40 °C).
