Hyper 212 Evo fan not spinning

Bought the Hyper 212 Evo cpu fan for my processor a couple months ago and recently it has not been working on start up, the fan doesn't spin and I get a message that says "CPU Fan Error - Press F1 to proceed" Not sure if it is something wrong with the PC or just the fan itself, please answer if you have any useful information, thank you.

Presumably either the fan or the cpu fan header no longer works. Try running the cpu fan header to another fan. If it works, replace the fan on the 212. If not, try the 212 fan in another fan header. If it works, just keep using it like that. If not, I can't help you. But one of those options should answer your question.

I believe it is a faulty fan as I ran the cpu fan on the backup header for it and a chassis fan and it didn't spin either time, thank you for replying.
