Hi,
I'm looking to get a used Asus ROG G751 laptop, but the it happens that the one I want has great everything else but a GTX 860M card in it. I'm looking into external graphics cards and I had some questions. One being that should I actually go for an external graphics card? I know that there are enclosures and such but they go into the price range of an actual graphics card, and there are a few simply PCIe slot to mini PCIe converters out there. I was thinking that I could use one of these with a GTX 960 or 970, and hook it up to the mini PCIe slot in the laptop. Now, second question: Where in the world is this mini PCIe slot?! I've seen videos on YouTube of the disassembly of this laptop but if someone could insert a pic of where it actually is or link me to some kind of parts breakdown, that would be very useful. Ok, this is longer than expected but here's the third question: Would there be a way to actually hide the cable running from the big card to the laptop? I mean that I want to know if you can put the bottom panel back on the computer and still have it work. I would be using this on a desk for gaming and on my bed and my lap for everything else, so I would have the card hooked up at my desk 98% of the time. But, when I go on a trip, I may take everything with me and game in another location, so I don't want my delicate insides of my pc to be hurt. Thanks in advance for any help and sorry for such a long set of questions :chaudar:
