So i have a H100i v2 cooler currently running stock SP 120 fans. But i am having a issue where after a bit of gaming like 10-20 mins, they start to go way faster than they are suppose to be. I use the balanced settings so at most they should be at like maybe 2200 rpm while gaming, but lately they have been as high as 2800-2900 rpm and the bearings start to make a lot of grinding noise. I have already ordered new SP 120 high performance fans based on a recommendation that the stock SP 120s the cooler comes with are just really bad fans.
But my question here is tho, could there aside from the fans just being bad to begin with, be a software issue as well? Cause I didn't think these fans were rated to even be able to go at that RPM, and they sure aren't set in corsair link settings to be able to. So might there be a possibility of another reason as well? Or is it just bad fans.
