Hey Guys,
I've had my i3 2120 since late 2011 and has served me really well. I plan on partaking in the Intel Retail Edge program this year for the Summer Deal. My guess is that there will be a 5930k available and probably a skylake processors. If not any of them, for sure a high end CPU of course.
The reason why I want to purchase the i7 5930k is because its a really good deal with the Intel Retail Edge program. I'd also like to future proof as well because of DDR4.
The only thing holding me back is the following:
Here's what I'll do on my PC.
Web browsing, MS Office Suite, MATLAB, programming, general school work(reading multiple PDFs, etc) , movies, etc. For games I don't play at all but was looking into a few titles currently such as watch dogs or fallout 4.
My current rig is i3 2120 + gtx 660.
Given my uses of a computer, do you guys think its waste to even think of purchasing a i7 5930k + all the components I'd have to purchase (ram, mobo, etc)?
