Still a little confused.

gigabyte ga-z97x-ud3h-bk
Intel Core i7 4790

Some light gaming, but I do use lots of ram doing other things and this pc will not be updated for 6 years.

shopping for 4x8gb(or 2x16)

A couple of questions(followed by a couple more no doubt)

Can I just go out and buy 4 sticks the same or do I need to get a full kit of four matching ram or two pairs? In any case should I buy it all at the same time or buy some now and add later?

Also should I buy the fastest ram I can get for the price and set the motherboard to run at what ever speed ram I can find or should I just buy some 1600 and be done with it, what might the performance difference be?

Here are some things I have seen on ebay what do you think?

And suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I am not in the Americas so what’s available down here may vary to up there.

or would these 4 stick be just fine?

It's basically like a ladder (especially with the examples given, taking each up 1 step (both data rate and CL will show a slight improvement in overall performance i.e. 1600/7, 1866/8, 2133/9, 2400/10, 2666/11 - in each case going up will be a slight improvement and with these being the normal tightest combos as an examply going from 2133/9 to 2400 10 is a slight + if going to 2400/11 it's about a wash performance wise, or if going from 2133/9 to 2400/11 it may be a slight decrease in overall performance
