I bought 2x http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SEATAY-Desktop-3-5-SATA-HDD-ROM-Internal-Mobile-Rack-Enclosure-for-5-25-Bay-/171534380094?hash=item27f03eec3e:g:bDUAAOSwcF9UX00i and they are very harsh on the HDD connectors with scratches/wear on the copper pads and the door is real hard to close, feels like the connection is too tight or misaligned. Also one of the two sounds like it drops the connection to HDD and reconnects occasionally, though never drops from devices in my computer, like it spins down. they have some software that allows spindown, but i have not set it to do so. Those ports the 2 hotswaps are connected to are set in bios to hotswap.

Thinking i may just toss these and buy some better quality units. I would like to find some that only takes 3.5 sata, not 2.5, has a cooling fan, is kind to connectors, looks good, works flawlessly, Bought easily in Australia . Also have noticed some have a power switch too for on/off of HDD, is this mainly for desktops without the Hot Swap capability or?

Anyone suggest any i should buy

Yes but tray types require that you install the HDD to the tray first, an extra step, not hard but still. I service peoples pc's and want something quick for data backup/retrieval . I also change disks for multi operating system use etc

Thanks for your input/ idea's . Nah, I also keep one near permanently installed to save all my downloads to my 2nd HDD and enjoy it all being in the pc as one unit, don't really want more clutter on the desk or more things that require power from the wall

This one promises to be nice to connectors but i hate the writing/look of it and has no fan......https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=25379&cPath=1307

I want this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sc8oHtSqZms but where to buy?

Ok so what would you suggest? Is there a trayed type that fits 5.25" bay or even a tool- less trayed type for 5.25" that would be a good solution. One that also comes with a 2.5" converter tray for the odd time i would use it would also be handy
